Outbound #1 Video Tease

12:28 PM by Roho 0 Comments

I just got back from Red Sun Press.
I have the Outbound #1 Proof.

Breezes of Heaven by Joe Cannon (Illustrated by Paul Marquis)

7:34 PM by Roho 0 Comments

I grew up deep in the Louisiana bayou.  Raised by prawn I spent most of my early life illiterate and carefree.  When I discovered the written word I was instantly smitten and moved to the fast paced city of Boston, where I work as a grocer and write stories on the side.  I have gotten stories published in the now defunct BostonNow magazine, as well as on my own website, www.ikindoflikejoe.com.  This Summer I plan to continue my annual tradition of writing letters to the actor Jon Lovitz in a series called "Summer of Lovitz".

Joe was kind enough to submit his story to Outbound #1, which will be accompanied by a gorgeous illustration by Paul Marquis.

Flek by Erik Heumiller

8:31 AM by Roho 0 Comments

"FLEK! Space Flea"
The universe is a big place...even more so if you're a flea.
Flek follows the adventures of a flea who travels the universe encountering unknown cultures, strange creatures and whole new worlds while he searches for lost family.
Flek! is written and drawn by Erik Heumiller.  Erik also draws The Golden Hare, a thrice-weekly webcomic at thegoldenhare.com

Mark and the Aliens by Aya Rothwell

1:46 AM by Roho 0 Comments

The mundane and the extraordinary are celebrated equally in two stories by Aya Rothwell.
In “Mark and the Aliens,” Mark has crashed his ship on an alien planet. His dire concern seems to be that he can’t get anyone’s names or faces right, among the locals. Will he ever succeed?
In “How I Learned to Tolerate Vegemite,” a young college intern gains valuable experience in the corporate environment. Acquired skill sets includes organizing the workplace; working in a team setting; eating Vegemite and traveling through time. Undoubtedly, this will help her job searching process, when she graduates from school.
About the Author:“Mark” was initially drawn when Aya was working as a production assistant on film sets in New York City (and living out of a backpack). She sketched the story during a day off. Then Aya moved back to Boston to live more normally, where she re-drew the story. Regarding “Vegemite,” Aya was recently asked if it was a true story. “Oh, no,” she replied. “I still don’t like the taste of Vegemite. I never did learn to tolerate it.”

Scientist Gone Wild by Eric Boeker

7:11 AM by Roho 0 Comments

"Scientist Gone Wild" joins the ranks of Outbound with a "brutally serious" look at the morals of today scientist community and were the limits on new research should be.

About Eric Boeker:
Ever since he can remember, Eric Boeker has wanted to grow up to be a cartoonist, which is why he (like all other aspiring cartoonists) studied German Literature and grew up to be an engineer.  Thanks to the recent zombie invasion in corporate America, he has finally found an outlet for his repressed cartoonist tendencies.  He documents the trials and tribulations of the ever-growing, Generation-X, coffeehouse-loving, zombie horde in the "Commute of the Living Dead".

Black Fuska by Roho

9:54 AM by Roho 0 Comments

Summer of 1989, south of Brazil a rainy night and some Traidores music. This is how the story starts. If you like Lost, The Twilight Zone and Alien the movie, you will enjoy this if not this is very different from those.
As a little preview if you look really close at the audience in the following video you may see the Estaban (the protagonist of Black Fuska) singing along.
